Week 10: Video

This is a video book trailer. We are going to be making some of these after spring break. This is the book our Book Club is reading right now.

Week 9: Instant messaging

We use iChat with AIM at school.  I have also set up an account with my daughter so that I can chat with her.  I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family.  I joined Meebo.  I added both account to that.  It looks like I can talk to any of my friends on AIM or Facebook through Meebo.  Friends were added automatically.

Week Eight: Cloud Computing

Gwen Lehman and I collaborated to form a wiki for our Language Arts teachers.  We added titles for various genres and Web 2.0 ideas for student projects about these books.  I think this is something we will continue to use and add to as we find ideas.

Week Seven: Microblogging

I have had a twitter account for quite a while, but I forget to check it.  When I started, I didn't like all of the little tidbits of info - what people were eating, watching on tv, when they were going to bed, etc.  Now that more people are using it to share websites, tools, ideas, I like it better.  I have gotten some good info when I remember to check it.  I follow the Hutch News.  That keeps me up on local news.  I also check the Trending Topics.  Some of those are interesting.  I find I spend more time on my google reader.  Many of those I follow are on both.  Finding the right people to follow is essential.  I have now found some librarians and some technology specialists.  Our school has a twitter account where they post changes to the sports schedule.

Week Six: Tagging and Social Bookmarking

My delicious account is gbartlett.  I started my delicious account to share SMARTboard resources with our teachers, but I have started using it for all of my school bookmarks.  I have added my delicious tags to my library web page so that students can click on my tags to find websites they might want to use.
